CLIMB SMART SHOP (CSS Retail)

Job Title: Retail Manager
Reports to: Director of CSS
Schedule: Full-time, primarily weekdays, with some weeknights or weekends
Compensation: $26 – $31 per hour, benefits
Location: Main facility (Etobicoke, ON), with occasional travel to other locations

Opportunity:
With the growth of Climb Smart Shop we are looking to hire an experienced Retail Manager with deep knowledge in Shopify and sales to guide our team. This position will report to the Director on
inventory control and strategic initiatives and work closely with the General Manager and Operations Manager to complete functional and operational tasks.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Manage digital marketing strategies and optimize the Shopify online storefront.
• Share deep technical knowledge about climbing gear and outdoor equipment with customers.
• Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment.

 

RECREATIONAL INSTRUCTION

Job Title: Recreational Program Supervisor
Reports to: Operations Manager
Schedule: Full-time or Part-time
Compensation: $22.00 – $26.00 per hour, benefits (full-time)
Location: Main facility (Etobicoke, ON) with travel to support staff at other locations from time to time

Opportunity description:
In consultation with the Operations Manager you will be responsible for developing all key areas of rock climbing recreational programming.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Prepare lesson plans, attendance, respond to inquiries and arrange for lessons
• Deliver training of instructors, counsellors and participants in relation to skills and knowledge required for Recreational and Adaptive programs, Camps and other programs as needed.
• Provide coaching and mentorship to instructors and conduct regular check-ins as needed
• Standard First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire)

 

COMPETITIVE CLIMBING TEAM

Job Title: Head Coach
Reports to: Team Administrator
Schedule: Part-time (1–3 shifts per week, various hours throughout the week and competitions)
Compensation: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour
Location: Main facility Etobicoke

Opportunity Description:
We are looking for an experienced competitive climbing coach to lead our coaches and athletes. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in competitive youth/adult coaching climbing, movement analysis, or route setting.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide direct coaching, structured mentorship, and leadership to coaching staff.
• Manage development tracks and athletic expectations for all team groups across various ages
and skill levels.
• Act as the primary liaison for team families, managing athlete onboarding and administrative
duties (e.g., team offers, gear/uniform ordering).
• Maintain, refine, and implement advanced climbing methodologies and training strategies.
• Standard First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire)

 

ROUTE SETTING

Job Title: Senior Route Setter
Reports to: Assistant Head Setter
Schedule: Part-time (1–3 shifts per week, daytime hours, Monday to Friday)
Compensation: $24.00 – $27.00 per hour
Location: Main facility (Etobicoke, ON) with a willingness and ability to travel to other locations

Opportunity Description:
We are looking for an experienced Route Setter to join our creative team. The ideal candidate possesses a broad background in both commercial and competition setting, with international experience highly
welcomed.

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Design and build high-quality, engaging, and creative climbing routes and boulders.
• Remain open to feedback and collaboration regarding movement design and grading.
• Perform regular maintenance and quality control tasks to ensure maximum facility safety.
• Maintain accurate records, hold inventories, and stripping/washing as required.
Requirements & Physical Demands:
• Proven experience in commercial or competitive route setting.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and work with tools up to a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Standard First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire)

 

GUEST SERVICES

Job Title: Floor Supervisor and Belayers
Reports to: Assistant Operations Manager
Schedule: Part-time, 1–3 shifts per week, evening and weekends
Compensation: $17.60 per hour (or based on experience)
Location: Main facility (Etobicoke,ON) with a willingness to travel to other locations

• Welcome guests, process check-ins, manage waivers, and distribute rental equipment.
• Provide professional top-rope belaying services for events, birthday parties, and groups.
• Supervise the climbing floor to enforce facility rules, ensure safety compliance, and conduct
belay tests.

• Must be fully proficient and confident in top-rope belaying
