Welcome to Boulderz! We’re thrilled you’re bringing the kids along too! Here’s everything you need to know for your visit:
Before you Arrive
Make check-in a breeze by completing your waiver online beforehand. If you’re bringing children, don’t forget to complete their waivers too. If you’re bringing other children, their parents or guardian must also complete the waiver online.
- Children 14 and older can climb without an adult.
- 1 adult per 3 children is required for supervision.
- If climbing together, 1 adult per 2 children.
- 1 complementary supervising adult per child is included in your visit.
If it’s your first time at Boulderz, we recommend one of these two great options to get started:
- Single Visit: Pay for admission and rent any gear you need—perfect if you want to try it out for a day.
- Intro to Boulderz: For the price of just two visits, enjoy unlimited climbing for two weeks! Rentals are included for the entire duration, making it the best value for beginners.

Don’t worry if you don’t have gear — we’ve got you covered! We rent out climbing shoes, harnesses, and chalk. Just remember to bring socks for rental shoes.
Rentals are complimentary for kids under 5.

Once you’re Here
Orientation
Every new climber will start with a brief Ground School Orientation. It’s just a quick intro to help you learn the basics and get comfortable in the gym. Then, you’re ready to start climbing!
Climbing Options for You
Bouldering
Perfect for independent climbers, bouldering offers the freedom to tackle problems solo without the need for ropes or a partner.
How difficulty is measured: Our boulder problems use the V scale (V0 to V9+), providing a clear grading system so you can challenge yourself at the right level.
Where you’ll find it at Boulderz: Bouldering is available at all Boulderz locations, with plenty of varied and challenging routes to keep experienced climbers engaged and progressing.

Auto Belay
If you want to climb without a partner, our auto-belays are the perfect solution.
Where you’ll find it at Boulderz: Available at Etobicoke for all abilities and ages with Junction appropriate for beginners and youth.
Top Rope
Looking to climb longer routes? Top rope climbing is an excellent option.
What you need to know: You’ll need to pass a quick top rope test (included with admission) or book a lesson.
Where you’ll find it at Boulderz: Top rope climbing is available at Boulderz Etobicoke, which has over 100 top rope lines.
Lead Climbing
For climbers ready to take on more advanced rope routes, lead climbing is a challenging and rewarding option.
What you need to know: You’ll need to pass a Lead Test to ensure you’re ready for lead climbing (book your test here). Once certified, you’ll have access to both top rope and lead-only routes for a more dynamic climbing experience.
