General:
Boulderz Climbing Centre has the authority to revoke or suspend rights and privileges when offending behaviour is exhibited. Offending behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
- Disorderly conduct
- Disruptive behaviour
- Persistent disregard of facility rules
- Default in payment such as for program fees or membership dues
- Each person entering these areas for the purpose of participating in any program must be a registered participant or an authorized guest or member.
Facility Rules and children:
- All participants must have a completed waiver, everyone under 18 years of age must have a waiver signed by their parent or legal guardian.
Note: For participants 17 and under, waiver forms must be completed by a parent or legal guardian only. Waivers completed by anyone else is not considered valid. Participants are legally responsible for ensuring their documentation and information is completed correctly and by the correct party or individual. Boulderz Climbing Centre is not liable for fraudulent submissions. - Check IN at the front desk.
- NO BARE FEET in the gym at all times. Always wear sandals, shoes or socks when not climbing.
- When not climbing, please stay off the landing mats.
- STOP and LOOK before walking through archways.
- CLIMB DOWN whenever possible. If you top out, use the stairs, ladder or slide in order to get down, depending on the facility set up.
- When Top Rope or Lead Climbing, always display your BELAY TAGS. If you don’t have one please see one of our staff for more information about lessons and belay tests.
- Only Boulderz Climbing Centre instructors may teach at our facility.
- Anyone under 14 MUST be accompanied by an adult at all times.
- 1 non-climbing adult with up to 3 children
- 1 climbing adult with up to 2 children
- No spectators (unless the participant is under 14 years old or a belayer is required)
- Once your child’s lesson is complete, they must be picked up immediately.
- ALL food and drink must be consumed in a dining area (except for water) away from the climbing areas.
- Do not come in if you are unwell. Abide by public health requirements. Our climbers and staff are our top priority.
- All bad attitudes left at the door, only acceptable problems are on the wall.
Safety & Risks:
- All participants are expected to recognize and accept the risks inherent in their activity. Part of the risk involved in undertaking any activity or program is relative to the participant’s own state of health (physical, mental or emotional) and the awareness, care and skill with which the participant conducts himself or herself in that activity or program.
- The specific risks vary from one activity to another. All participation in programs and services is voluntary and each participant knowingly assumes all risks associated with his or her own participation.
- IN CASE OF PERSONAL INJURY OR ACCIDENT, CONTACT A STAFF PERSON IMMEDIATELY. For life threatening circumstances contact 911 directly.
Pricing Policy
All prices are subject to tax unless otherwise noted. Pricing is subject to change without notice.
Admission:
Paying for a single visit admission grants access to the facility for the day of the purchase. Cannot be transferred.
Membership:
- Membership types:
- EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) Gold, Multi-gym
- Silver – prepaid for specific duration and specific location
- Non-transferable and non-refundable.
- Family discount – Adult and dependant(s) must have the same start and end dates and must have the same membership type.
- 50% off first consecutive month after introduction package(s) applies to prepaid 1 Silver month and EFT Gold and multi-gym membership types.
- EFT memberships, such as gold or multi-gym:
- Can be frozen at $5 + hst per month. Other memberships cannot be frozen.
- However they cannot be frozen or cancelled for 30 days after starting a new membership or unfreezing.
- Guest passes are not included for discounted dependants.
- Guest passes are limited to one per visit.
- Family Discounts – A family is defined as 1 adult over 18 years of age and up to 2 dependants under 18 years of age. Everyone in the family must reside at the same address for billing purposes.
Punch Passes:
- These are admissions often purchased in bulk such as a 5 or 10 pack to receive a discount.
- These are non-transferable visits are equivalent to Admission when used.
- Punches will expire 24 months after date of purchase.
- Punch passes can only be used at the facility/location where purchased.
- Family discount – Adult and dependant(s) must purchase Punch passes of the same type and at the same time, but can be used separately afterwards. Additional family members may be added later. A family is defined as 1 adult over 18 years of age and up to 2 dependants under 18 years of age. Everyone in the family must reside at the same address for billing purposes.
Rental Equipment:
- Cannot be taken outside of the facility.
- Socks are required when using rental shoes.
- Climbing shoes are required to climb unless otherwise stated by a supervisor.
- No discounts apply to rental equipment due to retail items being out of stock.
Gift Cards:
Value available on the Gift Card can be used towards any purchase at any Boulderz location, has no cash value and is non-refundable.
Gift Certificates:
Can be used to redeem the item on the certificate at no charge. Have no cash value, and so they cannot be used towards any other purchase.
Program Cancellations and Facility Closures:
Occasionally the facility or classes are cancelled on holidays or because of special events or for other unforeseen circumstances, For program cancellations and low enrolment, Boulderz reserves the right to cancel a program due to low enrolment or classes may be combined if enrolment is low.
Allergies and Medical Conditions:
WE ARE NOT A NUT FREE FACILITY, however to reduce risk, do not send your child to the facility with snacks containing nut products. If your child has allergies or any medical condition that we should be aware of, please let us know at the time of registration. Please also speak with your child’s instructor about any conditions that could impact your child’s safety. In the event of an emergency, we will make every attempt to contact the parent(s) or guardian(s) listed on the account. If we are unable to reach the parent(s) or guardian(s), we will contact the person listed as an alternate emergency contact. Please keep the contact information (home phone, cell phone or work phone) current on your family account. Contact the facility directly for any questions.
Sick Children and when to stay home:
A sick child can infect other participants and staff and runs a greater risk of injury in sport and recreation programs. If your child has any of these symptoms within 24 hours of his/her scheduled program, please keep him/her at home:
- Fever, diarrhea and/or vomiting
- Rash or other skin infection (persistent itching or scratching)
- Excessive coughing, wheezing or a runny nose with green or yellow mucous
